For friends all around the world

Hi everyone and welcome on this blog, developed in parallel to the radio show Amnesia, brodcasted every Tuesday from 21 to 22h on C'rockradio (please, see the first post and links) and devoted mainly to the postpunk movement and other genres associated (coldwave, gothic, synthpop, Ebm ....).

An English translation of each post (which is often the opening of the radio show) is available near the French one (often just after the link required to download each show). Please, don't hesitate to leave a comment! Thanks.

A first Synthpop show

-The Girl with the Patent Leather face. (Soft Cell)
-Incontinent (Fad gadget)
-Decay (Twice a Man)
-Agnes (1000 ohms)
-Alone (Vita Noctis)
-Breakdown (Carol)
-Even bad times are good (The Misz)
-Love me or leave me (Der Herr kam über sie)
-No songs tomorrow (UV Pop)
-The sound of the crowd (Stephen Spera)
-39 a5 something (John Bender)
-What's there left (Nine Circles)
-rendez-vous d'or (Xeno and Oaklander)

"The Girl with the Patent Later Face", by Soft Cell to open this third chapter of Amnesia, third show devotedas announced last week by Hysterica Passioto SynthpopThis title, which is far from being one of the best known  of Marc Almond and David Ball's band, is the second of the "Some Bizarre Album", compilation edited in 1981 by the Some Bizarre label and which is a masterpiece today . Being part of the first productions of the labelthe "Some Bizarre Album" indeed includes some titles by English beginners bands, Soft Cell, of course, but also B-Movie or Depeche ModeNo less ...
The featuresbut also the origin of the success of this musical movement, were soon to be found - from Kraftwerk and "Radioactivity" perhaps (and this far beyond the borders of countries of Western Europe) -  in the first titles that will be later called synthpop (and Minimal wave...)rather raw and cold sounds (I've read "sterile" and the idea pleases me even if I couldn't say why ...), a minimalist and syncopated rythm,  often catchy melodies served by voices generally  more nuanced than in the case of Postpunk or Coldwave.
Depeche Mode and Soft Cell have become starsbut often synthpop's bands were  bands of one title: either beccause the split or the decision of the band itslelf   or because this title was the one to be found on an impressive number of more or less inspired compilations, again and again, losing in this way its interest. It won't be the casehowever (at least I hope ...for the following titles ...
