A (private) first Xmas show (but) with (as usual) great music.

(Siouxsie and The Banshees)
-Hantell (And Also The Trees)
-Everywhere (The Cranes)
-Someone, Somewhere in Summertime  (Simple Minds)
-Terror Couple Kill Colonel (Bauhaus)
-Black Moon (Killing Joke)
-Follow the Sun (Siouxsie and The Banshees)
-Goodbye Horses (Q. Lazzarus)
-Second Skin (The Chameleons)
-Transmission (Joy Division)
-Cold (The Cure)
-Breathe the Fire (The Soft Moon)
-Heartland (The Sisters of Mercy)
-Jimmy  (The Young Gods)

Bon téléchagement et bonne écoute!

"Il est né le divin enfant" by Siouxsie and the Banshees to open this new chapter of Amnesia, Chapter number 13 devoted on, you guessed it, Christmas. This first song was recorded on December  the 15th in 1982 on the French television (and in the days when Robert Smith stood in for the guitar in the Banshees after the departure of John Mc Geogh) for the cult TV show "Les enfants du rock". It appears today in the beautiful box set of rareties "Down Side Up ". The video is on you tube, and it is amusing to note that each of the protagonists, either Siouxsie, Robert Smith, Steve Severin or Budgie, has the appearance of a small child about whom you should think he's afraid of being punished and therefore be deprived of his Christmas toys ...
As for me, I take this opportunity to thank some of the most loyal listeners or other, the soon to be, but without which Amnesia would not be the same (amazing) show as today. Playlist can also give some gift ideas, hehehehe

About some original bands, with a very personal sound...

-The last Song - extrait de « Chapter IV » (T. 21)

-The Camp  - « Black Label » (T.21)
-One of the Kind  - extrait de « Try Out « (Kas Product)
-Tina Town  -  « By pass » (Kas Product)
-Clown  -  « Ego Eye »  (Kas Product)
-Sahrah - extrait de « Sahrah » (End of Data)
-Quetzacoalt -  « Dans votre monde » (End of Data)
-Your passion – extrait de « Your Passion (45t)  (Martin Dupont)
-My analyst « Assez » –  « Hot Paradox » (Martin Dupont)
-Unveiling the Secret – extrait de « Unveiling the secret » (Psyche)
-The Outsider –  « Mystery Hotel » (Psyche)
-Winter in my heart (par Atomic Eon, extrait de la compilation « The black snow » ---- Pour annoncer le prochain chapitre consacré à Noël)

"The Last Song" by Trisomy 21 to open this new chapter of Amnesia, chapter number 12 devoted, as announced on the last post by Martin Dupont, to bands with predominantly electronic music, who have been able to develop such a particular sound  that it made them unclassifiable ... Hence their interest.
This is the case, according to me, of T.21, a French band (or rather duo) created in the north (near Valenciennes in fact) in 1980 by brothers Lomprez. Their profile, on "Discogs" (website offering an impressive database of recorded music), is halfway between gothic, industrial, electro-pop ... or curiously called as "typical of the 80's" (as an avowal of embarrassment).
Like many bands of the PIAS label in the  early 80's, T.21 is part of the legendary pioneers of electro-cold movement alongside artists such as Front 242, The Neon Judgement or Tuxedomoon (other bands who have succeeded in developing a very particular sound, some of them even creating a movement, like Front 242). Throughout his impressive discography, the French duo managed to forge his own musical style characterized by the unique voice of  the singer but also by a sound I would describe (for once without too much risk of being wrong...) like cold and dark, the bass playing a leading role (hence the affiliation, certainly, to the coldwave movement ...). The "Black label" album, marked their return in 2009 and revealed a group of great maturity and with melodic research still fussy and more refined. The magic, however, remained intact,  thanks to still catchy melodies , but also to to this unique sound.

This search for an original and  staff sound will be the common point of the bands present on the playlist of this show.

About the best bass lines ever...

(Steven Severin - Siouxsie and The Banshees)

-Israêl (Siouxsie and the Banshees)
-10 :15 on a Saturday Night (The Cure)
-In a Lonely Place (New Order)
-Next one is the Real (Minimal Compact)
-Alas Dies Laughing (Cocteau Twins)
-Marian (The Sisters of Mercy)
-Tourist Ghetto (Coïtus Int.)
-Pandemonium (Killling Joke)
-Skinflowers (The Young Gods)
-Edie Sedgwick (James Ray and the Performane)

"Israël" by Siouxsie and the Banshees (the first title of "Nocturne", the beautiful life of the band) to open this eleventh chapter of Amnesiachapter devoted , as announced on the last post by "This Corrosion" by The Sisters of Mercy, to the most amazing  bass lines recorded during the 80's.
The life "Nocturne" was recorded at the Royal Albert Hall in London in 1983, with Robert Smith on guitar after the departure of John Mc Geoch, exhausted by the studio recording of the album "A Kiss in Dreamhouse". The bass line is the work of StevenSeverin, a founding member of the group, with Siouxsie. Everything here is contrast between the often choppy guitars, which "cut each note with a knife" (french expresion..), and bass lines put very forward compared to what could be done  in the productions of the period.
The bass, in fact, is no longer (at least in the music we love ...) an accompanying instrument, but an instrument in itself. It is, particularly because of the  original and intense play by Michael Dempsey, SimonGallup and Peter Hook an essential component of the music of The Cure, Joy Division or New Order, like the playlist of this show will show you, especially if you're already conviced ...
