Around Ian Curtis and Joy Division

-Ceremony (New Order)
-Love Will Tear Us Apart (par The Cure)
-Transmission (par Bauhaus)
-Atmosphere (par Peter Murphy)
-Twenty For Hours (par In Broken English)
-Isolation (par Data-Bank-A)
-Transmission (par Complot Bronswick)
-Decades (par Clair Obscur)
-Dead Souls (par Nine Inch Nails)
-This Is The One Thing (The Brian Jonestown Massacre)
-Heart and Soul (peter Hook and A certain Ratio)

"Ceremony" by New Order, to open this new chapter of Amnesia, chapter No. 30 devoted, as announced last week by their song "Komakino" to Joy Division. Originally, this song was place  free (in April 80) to the public's disposal by the Factory as a flexi-disc containing two tracks recorded during the preparation of "Closer", but which should not be on the album. It has since been released on the compilation "Substance". Of course, this show will also be the opportunity to pay tribute to Ian Curtis...
So, the playlist will consist of songs recorded by Joy Division and covered by other artists or bands, in order to show all the influence of this amazing combo.
Enjoy it!

About "Merciful Release"

-Temple Of Love (The Sisters Of Mercy )
-Religious as Hell (The March Violets)
-Evelyn (The Salvation)
-Possession (The Sisters Of Mercy)
-Rain From Heaven (The Sisterhood)
-Mother Russia(The Sisters Of Mercy)
-Mexico Sundown Blues (James Ray's Performance)
-Without Conscience (James Ray’s Gangwar
-Badlands (James Ray’s Gangwar)
-Komakino (Joy Division) ---- Pour annoncer la prochaine émission, consacrée à Ian Curtis.

"Temple of Love" by the Sisters of Mercy to open this new chapter of Amnesia, Chapter No. 30 devoted, as announced last week by the Sisterhood, to the label Merciful Release, label run by Andrew Eldricht, charismatic and autocratic leader of the Sisters and created with the object (initially at least ...) of being  heard on the radio. The label's first release was therefore "The damage done," 45t by The Sisters just produced to a hundred copies, and you can well imagine how much it is sought by collectors today.
Maybe motivated by the feeling that "There are a whole lot of terrible bands in England, especially in London," (according to one of his interviews from 83)  Eldricht also signed a few groups on his label. The first of these was The March Violets, also  a band from Leeds who, like the Sisters, used a drum machine.
The programming of the show will attempt to account to this "diversity" ...

A first New Wave show (I thought...)

-Away (The Bolshoi)
-Dedicated (Minimal Compact)
-From Side To Side (Lowlife)
-Less Than Human (The Chameleons)
-Ice (The Essence)
-The Condos (Iron Curtain)
-Somewhere (Danse Society)
-Die Out (Résistance)
-Machines (Modern English)
-Waiting For The Cavalry  (Modern Eon)
-Our Prayers (Ellysgarden)
-The Big Beat (Blue In Heaven)
-Jihad (The Sisterhood) ---- Pour annoncer la prochaine émission, consacrée au label « Mercifull Release »

"Away" by The Bolshoi to open this new chapter of Amnesia, Chapter No. 28 devoted, as announced last week by The Essence, the New Wave music. Then, no particular theme today, I just wanted to share songs breaking with the postpunk's sound you're used    to with this show.
So, no blahblah tonight, but I want nevertheless to say that my intention is not to consider the New Wave as an artificial banner under which one could place all the artists who emerged after the punk's wave of enthousiasm/violence (depends...) . I don't very much appreciate  the use of classifications. Anyway, the New Wave movement obeys to   features both accurate and fairly vague enough to allow the emergence, in this genre, of some original artists and bands. Look at the playlist to be convinced...
