Music for Halloween

-The Haunted House (New Mayfair Dance Orchestra)
-Garbage Man (The Cramps)
-Throught the Pale Door (Faith and the Muse - illustration du poème« Le Palais hanté » qui apparaît dans la nouvelle « La Chute de la Maison d’Ulster » de Poe), puis
-Those who walk by the Night (Plastique Noir)
-Aux Mortes Saisons (Collection d’Arnell Andréa)
-Virginia Lament’s (Trance To the Sun - essai de mise en musique du poème « Annabel Lee »)
-Les Enfants Damnés (Jacqui Bitch)
-RIP (Acid Bats)
-Anne’s Death (The Incubated Sounds)
-Voudou (Sleepmask)
-Fresh Kills (Adult Fantasies)
-Under the mask (13th Moon)

Bon téléchargement et bonne écoute!

"The Haunted House", an old jazz classic songto open this new chapter of AmnesiaChapter number 7, devoted to Halloween.
Considering the soundscape of the showI had to suggest one chapter in honor of that time during which the other world merges with ours. So, just a little  claptrap this evening, and a playlist with songs thatfor various reasonscould be included in places of honor in a party organized in the occasion of the feast of the dead.

"Garbage Man" by the Cramps will undoubtedly be part of such a feastthe music of Lux Interior and Poison Ivy blending rockabillygarage rock and punk with background of sex, drugs and horror of B series. Just a look at the video of the song to be convincedthe crypt of a Gothic church in the fog and darkness, the drummer disguised like a kind of  Nosferatu  ... Nothing misses.

The rest of the playlist was established as follows, three songs by three songs. The first of them was taken from the compilation "Songs ot TerrorA Gothic Tribute to Edgar Allan Poe." The songs included in,  set some texts by the master of fantastic literature to music and I will  suggest  various extracts to youThe other two are extracted from the "Zoundbies" compilation, established by the DJ Aliens  Pagan and published by Zorch records, or are from my personal collection.
The three titles also have a strong thematic link and, in a manner of speaking, they tell a little horror story ...

New Wave vs Postpunk

-The Red Dots (An April March)
- A Song From Under The Floorboards  (Magazine)
- Fiasco (The Au Pairs)
-Artic Summer (B-Movie)
-Better make your mind up (Section 25)
-Blue Monday (New Order)
-Travel Time (Crispy Ambulance)
-Heaven (red Lorry Yellow Lorry)
-Love like blood (Killing Joke)
-Close to me (The  Cure)
-Speed your Love to me (Simple Minds)
-Tears (The Chameleons)

Please, look at the one of the last post too!

Bon téléchargement et bonne écoute!

An April March to open this new chapter of Amnesia, chapter number devotedas announced last week by The Essence, to the New Wave movement.
But first, let's talk about the previous episode: the playlist of this show was developed in parallel with that of last weekSo these are two different pieces, one each week, of the same bands, (with two exceptions) and if last week's songs played were closer to  postpunk, mainly because of sounds more directly related to the punk movement itself (and I  particularly think of the two bands that will followMagazine and The Au Pairs), those of this week probably will seem more accessible. No lyrism, however, and there can be no question of listening to U2 (hehehehe...)but to a few titles that have beenor should have been hits in the mid 80s, as the playlist of the show  will let  you probably hear...

Postpunk vs New Wave

-Hero (Remain in Silence)
-Shot by both Sides (Magazine)
-It’s Obvious (The Au pairs)
-Man on a Threshold (B-Movie)
-Friendly Fires par (Section 25)
-No Love Lost  (Joy Division)
-Federation (Crispy Ambulance)
-Hand of Heart (Red Lorry Yellow Lorry)
-Wardance (Killing Joke)
-10 :15 Saturday Night (The Cure)
-Premonition (Simple Minds)
-Don’t Fall (The Chameleons)
-The Cat (The Essence ---- Pour annoncer le Chapitre 6, consacré à la New Wave)

†o start this fifth chapter of Amnesiachapter devoted to postpunka first iconic piece of the movement: "Hero", by Remain in SilenceThe Hannover groupformed in the mid 80s and active until the early 2000s, has four albums to his creditand "hero" is taken from the first:"Monument". The phrasing of  guitar as well as the tone of voice (close enough, on this song, to the one of the singer of Red Lorryshows much of this rage or at least, suppressed anger that I have previously mentionedThis anger, unlike in punk music in my opinionwill not explodebut remain deafas a form of threatHence this idea of tension that is dear to me to characterize the genre.

Please note also that the playlists of this week's show and of the next one have been established in parallel, in order to illustrate my point about postpunk and new wave movements.
