About Cleopatra Records

Le célèbre "Preacher Man"  par les Fields of the Nephilim  pour ouvrir ce nouveau chapitre d’Amnesia, Chapitre 19 du Tome 2 de notre encyclopédie du Postpunk qui sera consacré, comme annoncé précédemment par un titre de Bauhaus au label américain «Cleopatra». Ce label, situé à Los Angeles, a été créé en 1992 par l’entrepreneur et grand amateur de musique Brian Perera. Connu de votre serviteur du fait des magistrales compilations éditées au fur et à mesure des années, le catalogue du label est cependant pour le moins hétéroclite. Il propose en effet des enregistrements  couvrant un spectre musical pour le moins étendu puisqu’allant des 45 Grave aux Buzzcocks en passant par Louis Amstrong, Marvin Gaye, ou James Brown. .. Un goût certain pour le grand écart : entre The Exploited et Edith Piaf (véridique…), goût dont votre émission préférée ne va pas se faire le reflet exhaustif, ainsi que vous le prouvera la playlist affichée ci-dessous.

The famous "Preacher Man" by The Fields of the Nephilim to open this new chapter of Amnesia, Chapter 19 of Volume 2 of our postpunk encyclopedia  which will be devoted, as announced with a song by Bauhaus to the US label "Cleopatra" . This label, located in Los Angeles, was founded in 1992 by businesssman and lover of music Brian Perera. Wellknown to your servant (I mean... me) because of the masterful compilation edited  year by year, the catalog of the label, however, is very diverse. Indeed, it presents records covering a rather large musical spectrum, from the 45 Grave to The Buzzcocks through Louis Armstrong, Marvin Gaye and James Brown... A taste for  splits, between The Exploited and Edith Piaf (true...), taste that your favorite show is not going to make a faithfull reflection of... as will prove you the playlist just above.
