About the end of the world

-The End of the world (The Cure)
-Black Cat (London After Midnight)
....from the «Selected scenes from the end of the world»
-The Shelter (Corpus Delicti)
-Gimme Shelter (The Sisters of Mercy)
-Anarchy in the U.K. (Sex Pistols)
....because of the lyrics : "I am an antechist"
-World Destruction (Time Zone)
-The Circus of Death (The Human League)
....because of the message of the last man of earth
-Apocalypse (The Citizen)
-Pandemonium (Killing Joke)
-Primobile (Killing Joke)
-Lentum Invocat (Ain Soph Aur)
....from the album «Horsemen of mental apocalypse»
-RIP (Alien Sex Fiend)

"The End of the World" by The Cure to open this new chapter of Amnesia, chapter devoted, as announced at the end of the last one by the song "Black Planet" by The Sisters of Mercy, and this time by a sound extract from the movie "Apocalypse now" as a generic (and required by Mayan calendar) to what we all apparently escaped, I mean the end of the world, which is apparently defered until later.
Not a lot of claptrap in this show , because time, my friends, my brothers, is fleeting and precious. Thanks to this show, you'll be able to  listen to some tracks of bands interested in the topic, a topic that seems to actually worry a lot of people:  indeed historian Luke Mary has listed the prediction of 183 end of the world since the end of the Roman empire...
The playlist is just above: enjoy the show and leave a comment!

A second gift: Alice in Postpunkland

Little Nemo, Jesus and Mary Chain, The Sisters of Mercy, Kraftwerk....
Bon voyage!

"The Caterpillar " by The Cure to open this special show concocted by my Greek brother, Ghostsent (also DJ on XWave radio), broadcasted for the first time in his own postpunk show on Syxnotita  radio (see links) , and dedicated to the character of Alice and more generally to various themes used by Lewis Carroll in his work. These themes were then often picked and used by many bands we often met, too, on Amnesia: Siouxsie and the Banshees , Little Nemo, Jesus and Mary Chain , The Sisters of Mercy , Kraftwerk ....
The registry will certainly be closer to the one of Tim Burton as to the one of the first adaptation by Walt Disney. We are indeed on the other side of the mirror and the proposed journey is a journey into the unconscious: wonderland becomes dark and disturbing ...
But will you resist the urge to imagine Andrew Eldricht as the Hatter or Reid brothers as Tweedle-Dum and Tweedle-Dee ? Robert Smith in the role of the Cheshire Cat and Jim Kerr in the one of the March Hare?
Have a good trip!

Robert Smith: from Postpunk to Coldwave

-Three imaginary boys (The Cure)
-I want to be old (The Easy Cure)
-I’m cold(The Cure)
-Jumping someone else’s train (The Cure)
-I’m a cult hero (Cult Hero)
-A forest (The Cure)
-Charlotte sometimes (The Cure)
-Splintered in her head (The Cure)
-A strange day (The Cure)
-Mouth To Mouth (The Glove)
-Bring me the head of the preacher man (Siouxsie and the Banshees)
-Shake dog shake (The Cure)
-Climatic Nouveaux (Ceramic Hello)

"Three imaginary boys" by The Cure to open this new chapter of Amnesia , chapter  devoted - as announced on the last post by the "All Cats are gray ," another song by The Cure -  to Robert Smith and more precisely to the compositions of this great man of the dark 80s between Postpunk and Coldwave . But first a little background ....
The second title of the show, " I want to be old ," is indeed a song from the demos recorded by Easy Cure in 1977. An amazing year for our music ... After a first formation called The Obelisk and already counting among its members Michael Dempsey and Laurence Tolhurst , Robert Smith founded Malice in 76, a band he belonged as a guitarist . In 77, the band changed its name to Easy Cure, Smith was now the lead singer . As such, even if it already contains the germs (I know, it's easy to tell hindsight, but I'll have some evidence to give ... ) that will make  the success of Cure, it is also a reflection of what one could compose in those years.
Playlist, as usual, is just above. Enjoy it!!!!

Some lives...

-Shake Dog Shake (The Cure) - Concert: The Cure Live
-Talk about the Weather (Red Lorry Yellow Lorry) - Live at Elektrowerkz London October 2010
-Skeletons (The Sound) - In the hot house.
-Shot By Both Sides (Magazine) - BBC Radio 1 Live in Concert
-Cannibals (Units) - History Of The Units (The Early Years 1977-1983)
-Stigmata Martyr (Bauhaus) - Press the Eject and Give Me the Tape
-A Means To An End (Joy Division) - Les Bains Douches Paris 18 December 1979
-Tenant (Siouxsie and the Banshees) ????
-L’Arabe (Kichen and the Plastic Spoon) ????
-The Drowning (Chrstian Death) – The Decomposition of Violets
-Marian (The Sisters of Mercy) - Wake (live in The Royal Albert Hall 18 June 85)

"Shake Dog Shake" by The Cure, from the album "Concert: The Cure Live" -recorded in 1984-  to open this new chapter of Amnesia, Chapter n°34 34, which was the opportunity, according both to the calendar and the French music day, to run a playlist consisting on lives recordings of bands we met several times during the first season of Amnesia.
Then, few claptrap -this time- but a kind of counterpoint to the previous year, between reminders and future prospects.
The show is devoted mainly to the post-punk movement, so we will start with a first block of titles referring to the genre that I like to define by the term of tension.
A group truly shapes on stage . So....
