"Lyncelia" (interview)

Pour le plaisir... 

Un titre du groupe qui sera interviewé dans l'émission de ce mardi 05/11.

L'émission sera en effet consacrée au groupe coldwave "Lyncelia", groupe rare, dont l'honnêteté se retrouve dans ce que sa musique propose à chacun un retour sur soi, une véritable réflexion donc sur nos parcours, nos rêves et nos errances (ces différents termes n’étant alors en rien péjoratifs, au contraire..).

Pour les curieux et les vrais amateurs de musique, celle qui dérange et questionne, rendez-vous ce mardi 05/11 de 21 à 22h sur C'rock radio (http://www.crockradio.com/ ) et/ou sur le blog de l'émission.

About "Nordwaves"

« Suicide », par Bunker Strasse pour ouvrir ce nouveau chapitre d’Amnesia, chapitre n°34 consacré, comme annoncé lors de la dernière émission par un titre des After Track, au site Nordwaves (cf liens)

Nordwaves est un projet d'archives des musiques alternatives du nord de la France: new wave, post-punk, gothique, punk et -bien sûr- coldwave. La playlist de l’émission fera d’ailleurs la part belle à ce dernier courant musical. Il y avait en effet bien longtemps (le chapitre 2 de l’émission en fait -Amnesia - T1 - Chap.2 …) que je ne m’étais pas aventuré du côté le plus sombre des musiques sombres, et c'est donc un plaisir pour moi que de me retrouver errer à nouveau dans la discographie de groupes comme Odessa, Frakture, Guerre Froide ou, donc,  Bunker Strasse.

"Suicide" by Bunker Strasse to open this new chapter of Amnesia, Chapter No. 34 devoted, as announced in the last show by with a song by After Track, to the website Nordwaves (see links).

Nordwaves is an archive project of alternative music in the north of France: new wave, post-punk, gothic, punk and -of course-coldwave. The playlist of the show will also put the emphasis on this last  musical movement. It has been a long time (The Chapter 2 of the show, indeed... Amnesia - T1 - Chap.2) that I had not ventured in the darker side of dark music, so it is a pleasure for me to find myself wandering back into the discography of bands like Odessa, Frakture, Cold War or, therefore, Bunker Strasse.

A first coldwave show

Asylum Party, un premier groupe français, pour ouvrir ce second numéro d’Amnésia, numéro consacré, comme annoncé la semaine dernière par Odessa, à la Coldwave. Ce premier titre (extrait de l’album Borderline) est d’ailleurs celui qui ouvre la superbe compilation éditée par le label Infrastition et consacrée à ce mouvement qui a eu une résonnance particulière en France, où l’appellation Coldwave a été inventée pour désigner cette musique froide venue d’Outre-Manche et caractérisée par un certain mal être existentiel, comme vous allez pouvoir le constater sans doute avec la playlist de cette émission.

Ainsi "Heaven Street", par Death In June,  le groupe de Douglas Pearce. Death In June est un groupe actuellement catalogué Neofolk, mais on retrouve dans ce morceau extrait de la compilation Misanthropy, comme dans bien d’autres de la  même période du groupe, toutes les caractéristiques du genre. De fait, le son Coldwave se caractérise selon moi tout d’abord par la prédominance de la section rythmique, généralement lente et pesante, avec des guitares en surimpression, aux notes tendues jusqu’à la dissonnance et par  un usage métaphorique des synthétiseurs, les sons employés étant ceux les plus "froid" possible...

Amnesia - T1 - Chap.2 (ok!)

Asylum Party, the first French group to open this second chapter of Amnesia, a show devoted, as announced last week by Odessa, to theColdwave. This first title (from the album Borderline) is also the one which opens the amazing compilation edited by Infrastition label devoted to this movement and which had a particular resonance in France, where the word Coldwave was invented to describe this cold music and came from across the Channel, characterized by a certain existential unease, as you'll see with the playlist of the show.

So, "Heaven  Street", by Death In June, the band of Douglas Pearce. Death In June  is now a band cataloged Neofolk, but in this piece taken from the compilation Misanthropy, as in many others by the same period of the band, one found all the features of the genre. In fact, in my opinion, the sound Coldwave is  characterized firstly by the predominance of the rhythm section, generally slow and cumbersome, with  overlaid guitars  with hints of dissonance tense up and a metaphoric use of synthetizers, cause of the use of the coldest sounds of those instruments...
